Upcoming GLAM Event!
I thought I’d let you all know that we’re running a fantastic Rock, Punk & Metal night taking place next SATURDAY 3rd JUNE (Week 7) from 10PM. It’s called RPM and it promises to be the best GLAM event of the year!
It’ll also be the final event before revision week, so one final chance to let loose! I really hope you can make it along.
The event is taking place @ Zero Degrees in the Heriot-Watt Students’ Association. You can get there by getting on a 25 or 34 bus all the way to the end of the line at RICCARTON.
Also, we’ve brought the website
up to date. We’ve added a section with a list of clubs and venues you all might be interested in. If anyone wants to contribute to the list, just send me an email.
And, finally, if you’ve a MySpace account (and who doesn’t these days?) you can friend us there
So, stay cool, and maybe I'll see you next Saturday!

GLAM AGM: The Results
Today, there was the GLAM AGM, the results of which make me think that next year is going to be utterly fantastic for GLAM.
We absorbed Jazz Society, which has broadened the scope of our 'alternative music ethos'. Graeme gained the new post of Jazz Monkey whilst Luke (ligacheva
) was duly elected publicity & events officer.
The top brass consist of Savage (savageteddybear
) as El-Presidente, newcomer Pete (of ents crew fame) as Secretary and David (staticbeast
) was re-elected as treasurer.
There's a much greater rock music influence in the executive committee now, so I'm hoping that this will help open up GLAM to the average student in a way that I never managed as president.
I'm going to feel a little sad when it comes to my time to step down as president, especially as it finally seems that the society is about to go places. But, there's still one event to go this term, and it looks set to be utterly fantastic.

much intrigue and many unexpected twists!

If only for comedy value I decided to share the minutes from a glam meeting:In attendance
Dan, Trenchcoat Dave, Savage, Engel, Cabbage, Luke, Keely, Helen, JR, Jaqui, Snorri
Every other glam monkey that
couldn't be arsed
was unable to attend.
Random Crap Issues
1)Snorri has been labeled an incompitent geek after failing miserably at geekdom.
2)Turn out at todays meeting is a little low (JR leaves the room) are there any glamlings in the building? (JR returns carrying Sam on his shoulder) Drew and Druncan also appear under their own free will.
3)With the purchase of a german army hat we have decided that Engel is secretly a member of the village peopleFuture
plans for world domination Events
It was decided that glam need to stop being a bunch of bleepy goths and have a rock/metal night, this idea has been discussed more and details will be released soon. The dreaded ICE was mentioned and aparently Chris Ross still want to do it so Gala may yet get a rock night.
An 80s theme night with retro gaming has also been suggested (Computer gaming society will help with that.) Cabbage requested a porno tetris competition. (At this point in the conversation Snorri regained his geekdom and JR also was classified geek)Random Crap part 2
2)Discussion of abstract numbering systems which was cut short by a news paper flying across the table.
3)Engel instructed to hit a slightly drunk Savage over the head
4)So they told the fish...
